EFFECTIVENESS OF KUMON
For my child(ren) to receive the full benefits of the Kumon Method, I understand that: My child(ren) should: 1. Attend each Kumon session 2. Study on a daily basis, according to the instructor’s directions 3. Return completed, graded, and corrected homework, as well as incomplete worksheets, to the instructor 4. Study year- round, even during summer and winter vacations 5. Follow all center rules I should: 1. Inform the instructor in advance if my child is unable to attend a session, and make arrangements to obtain his/her daily assignments 2. Familiarize myself with my child(ren)’s Kumon work and progress 3. Encourage my child(ren) to study responsibly and consistently, and ensure homework assignments are completed, graded, and corrected see grading guidelines 4. Provide praise and positive reinforcement for my child(ren) 5. Ensure that my child(ren)’s completion times are recorded accurately 6. Communicate with the instructor about my child’s progress 7. Give the instructor one month’s advance notice before my child discontinues Kumon TUITION • Monthly tuition is due in advance. For example, October’s monthly tuition is due on or before the 3rd of October. • If any Kumon materials (ex: worksheets) are used by the student during the month, tuition is non refundable. • If you fail to pay your tuition on time, a late fee will be charged. • One’s grading book deposit will be refunded only if the book is returned in excellent condition. ABSENCES • A student who has been absent and has not used any Kumon materials will not be charged a registration fee, if he or she resumes Kumon study within 60 calender days of being absent. If he or she resumes Kumon study after 60 calender days of being absent, he or she will be charged a registration fee. CENTER RULES STUDENTS: • No eating or drinking is allowed. • No jumping, yelling, or running. • No playing in the parking lot. • Keep the restroom neat and tidy. • No talking to other students when working. PARENTS: • Do not leave child(ren) unattended. • Pick up your child(ren) on time. • Please do not speak with the Instructor for an extended period during class time. DISRUPTIVE STUDENT POLICY • The first time a student misbehaves, he/she will be verbally warned. • The second time a student misbehaves, he/she will be dismissed for the day, and a written notice will be sent to the parents requesting a conference concerning the child’s behavior. • If there is no significant improvement in the student’s behavior after this conference, he/she will be dismissed from the program. • No refund will be given for dismissed students. LIABILITY • Kumon of Westbank is not a day- care center. It does not provide child care services. • Parents are responsible for making sure their child arrives and departs safely from the center. • Parents will be liable for any damages and injuries caused by their child to the center’s property or other people on the premises. • Kumon of Westbank is not liable for any student outside of the center’s facility before or after the student leaves the center. |
